During the shutdown, the trails are open at the Assabet River, Oxbow, and Great Meadows NWRs from sunrise to sunset. The canoe/kayak launch at the Oxbow NWR is available for use.
Restrooms at Assabet River and Great Meadows Concord Unit will remain open, for now.
Please pack in and pack out, and follow signage to maintain the Refuges as beautiful, cherished places in the absence of services. Leave no trace so the Refuges stay protected for wildlife, and for visitors. Together, we can keep our local National Wildlife Refuges thriving.
Visitor Outreach, the Nature Store, and all volunteer activities are cancelled during the shutdown, but the need to support the Refuges continues on. Please consider making a donation and/or joining Friends of Woodlands and Waters, and helping to fund the Blanding’s Turtle Project. Your donations will be greatly appreciated.
